PSD Network in Maya


PSD Network in Maya

Hi, this is my first tutorial on my blog. In this tutorial I am going to tell you about PSD network in Maya. It is very good and time saving feature in Maya.
Step 1:- create your project folder. After finishing your modeling and unwrapping now its time for PSD                  network.

Now go to UV editor click on image and select create PSD network.
Image -> create PSD network


Step 2:- It will open a dialogue box.


Step 3:- Now first give path to save your file.
              Set image size for texture.
              Check open with Photoshop.
               Check includes UV’s Etc.

Step 4:- Now select all maps like color, bum, spec etc.
               One thing you have to focus select the reverse order. Like spec, bump than color.   
              Select all maps on left than move it to right.


Step 5:- Now create PSD Network. Make sure your object should be in object mode.

Step 6:- After creating the PSD Network it will open this PSD file in Photoshop.


Step 7:- Now you can see all maps in a organize way.
Step 8:- here I have created a color map. After creating all maps just save this file and that’s it.


Step 9:- Now in Maya go to UV editor and click update PSD network. You can see your color map.
               Repeat this process to make changes in your maps.


Step 10:- Now we are going to create a button for update PSD network in our shelf.
                Rendering Menu set à Texturing -> Update PSD Network
                Press CLT+ Shift and then click on Update PSD network. It will add this in your shelf.


Step 11:- Make changes in your PSD file in Photoshop and save it. Come in to Maya and click update PSD network button.
