How to Transfer UV's in Maya

Transfer UV’s in Maya

This option saves your unwrapping time in Maya. If you have lots of similar kind of geometry in your scene then you don’t have to unwrap each one separately. Just unwrap one and transfer UV’s to another.

Step 1:- Create project folder and model an object with multiple copies.

Step 2:- Unwrap your object only one object.
 Set checker.
Second object without unwrap.

Step 3:- Now select your source mesh first and then select your target mesh.

Step 4:- Go to polygon menu set and select mesh then choose transfer attributes. It will open a dialogue box.

Step 5:- Now choose one of them and click transfer.

World or Local or UV or Component
it depends on your requirement.

Step 6:- check UV’s.
